There is an amazing park near my home that at this time of the year has an esplanade of almond trees in bloom. It is an incredible sight and you need to pick the time of day to visit as it can be as busy as Madrid’s Gran Vía!
This year, however, Madrid, and other parts of the country, had an unprecedented snowfall in early January that caused total chaos on the roads and in the city but also damaged a lot of plants and trees. Some parks are still closed and trees and branches are scattered about waiting to be cleared away.
So Quinta de los Molinos does not look quite as splendid as usual, but is still worth a visit. The sun shining on the almond blossom and the promise of spring never fail to lift your spirits and put and a smile on your face.
Gracias!!!!
